Blackboard has resolved the issue.
SMS services have been restored. A backup/delay was caused in SMS queuing, resulting in a delay in sending of these SMS messages. Delivery reports will become available as these SMS batches are completed.
Processing of new SMS messages as expected is now occurring.
The cause of this delay was an errant security protocol interfering with normal SMS processing. This required specific steps to follow to remedy and bring the services back online.
As a reminder, phone and email messages were not affected.
Blackboard Connect has reported SMS messages are currently not going out. Email and phone messages are being delivered as expected. However, reporting will not reflect these sent voice and email messages until the SMS message send issue is resolved.
Blackboard engineers are currently working towards a resolution.
